- Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you are taking, especially those called thiazolidinediones, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, or herbal supplements.
How to use human insulin NPH 30:
- Human insulin NPH 30 is given by injection under the skin, in the thigh, in the abdominal wall (at the front of the waist), in the gluteal region (buttocks), or in the deltoid region (shoulder).
- The injection site should be changed with each injection. The patient's blood sugar should be checked regularly to find the lowest effective dose.
- The usual dose ranges between 0.3 and 1.0 units per kilogram of body weight per day.
- Human NPH 30 insulin is given 30 minutes before a meal. It is usually given once or twice a day when a rapid initial effect with a long-lasting effect is needed.
How to store human insulin NPH 30:
- All unopened bottles: Store all unopened bottles in the refrigerator at 36° to 46°F (2° to 8°C). Do not freeze.
- Keep human insulin NPH 30 and all medicines out of the reach of children.
